Self-Management and Autonomy in the Workplace

Self-management and autonomy are often touted as attractive concepts that lead to innovative and adaptive organizations. Although these concepts promise greater flexibility and efficiency, their integration into the corporate context can be a significant challenge. In practice, they encounter established habits, attitudes, and management practices.

In this workshop, we aim to present the concepts of autonomy and self-management through a practical and interactive format, along with tips on how to successfully implement these principles.

The 60-minute workshop will be divided into the following sections:

  • Introduction to the concept of self-management through real-life experience
  • Discussion on understanding the concepts of self-management and autonomy
  • Common reasons why self-management fails in practice
  • Strategies for implementing self-management in real-world scenarios

The workshop will be led by Jaroslav Procházka and Šárka Hašková.
